FORD “FLEXES” NEW FAMILY MUSCLE!
Last spring at the 2007 New York International Auto Show, Ford introduced the 2009 Ford Flex — a full size crossover designed to replace the automaker's minivan offerings. On sale in the summer of 2008, the Flex will join the Edge and Taurus X in Ford’s expanding crossover lineup. It will be featured in the Ford display at the 2008 Buffalo Auto Show open Feb. 6 - Feb. 10 at the Buffalo/Niagara Convention Center.
Mark Fields, Ford’s president of The Americas, calls the new Ford Flex crossover a “game-changer”.
“It’s the first vehicle of its kind that combines seating for seven, interior spaciousness and surprising features with a striking design that looks great on the road and at home for today’s modern American families,” he said.
“The Flex builds on Ford’s leadership in crossover vehicles, which is the fastest-growing part of the auto market today.”
Flex is powered by Ford’s 3.5-liter V-6 engine and is mated to a fuel-efficient 6-speed transmission. The powertrain is expected to deliver more than 260 horsepower, 245 lb.-ft. of torque and good fuel economy.
Unique features include a refrigerator, mounted between the second-row captain’s chairs, Multi-Panel Vista Roof, seven-color programmable ambient lighting, capless fuel filler system, FordSync communications and entertainment system, Ford’s next-generation navigation system, and Ford’s second-generation door-entry keypad.
Show hours are 11 A. M. to 9 P.M. Wednesday through Friday, 10 A. M. to 10 P.M. Saturday, and Sunday 10 A.M. to 5 P.M.
The General admission tickets to the Auto Show will cost $8 at the gate and have a stub redemption offer for a free medium pizza at all area Pizza Hut restaurants. Children 5 years and younger are admitted free to the 2008 Buffalo Auto Show.
A savings is available with advance single tickets to the 2008 Buffalo Auto Show at Tops markets. A special “Value Pack for 4” ticket for $20 – a $12 savings over four individual general admission gate tickets at the Show admits four people to the show on the same day.
